The medieval village of Poujol-sur-Orb is ideally located at the foot of the Caroux and Espinouse mountains. It offers an abundance of recreational activities, a pleasant holiday resort and all the conveniences and services a traveller could desire. The village was built up around Comtes de Thézan Château in the 16th century, Today, it still dominates the Orb valley. Fresco paintings of the saints and prophets adorn the vaults of the church, built in the year 1646. Enormous chestnut tree groves surround the village, leading towards the Forêts des Combattants in the direction of Combes. If you head off in the opposite direction towards Plaussenous, you will cross over an "Eiffel Tower" style bridge, where a formidable 9-kilometre uphill climb awaits with breathtaking views!
