Pomérols is the architectural example of a Languedoc Region winemaking village. It’s geographic location offers it’s inhabitants and visitors the best of both coast and countryside.Surrounded by grape vines and the Thau Lagoon, it is one of the few villages that that preserved it’s convivial environment, traditions, and joy of living. The cooperative Les Costières de Pomerols wine cellar and that of the Domaine de la Reine Juliette are located in the heart of the AOC region Picpoul de Pinet. Hugues de Beauvignac vintages regularly receive regional and national awards. The village center merits a detour on a sunny day to smell the abundant flowers and see the brightly colored traditional village homes. Many of these charming domiciles date back to the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. The St. Cyr Church, as well as St. Julitte de Pomerols were constructed during the 13th century. The latter houses a magnificent sculpted altarpiece from the 17th century made of gold and wood, it is a classified historical monument. Charming guesthouses and inns are waiting in the comforting sun of the south.
