LES DOCKS DU GR

Flavours, nature and conviviality

Soaring 658 metres above sea level, the Pic Saint-Loup stands watch over this exceptional terroir. A land dedicated to vines where the fragrance of Mediterranean essences permeate the air. Olive trees, holm oaks, kermes oaks, arbutus, thyme, laurels, rosemary, cistus... all release their perfumes orchestrating the complex olfactory palette of Pic Saint-Loup wines. This is a land where history and legend work side-by-side to inspire creative cuisine. In Saint-Martin-de-Londres, producers and craftsmen bound by friendship have just opened an establishment that celebrates great flavours and conviviality. Inside their resolutely chic building, you will find a gourmet restaurant, a wine cellar and delicatessen. Dubbed "GR", it stands for Grand Restaurant and also serves as a reminder of the abundant hiking trails that crisscross the territory. This noble achievement was started by the late Jean Vallon with help from his son Léopold, and was further carried on by Guy Giner, owner of the "La Tour" bakery-pastry shop. Guy was aided by his brother-in-law, Jean-Michel Durand, vintage winegrower Laétitia Masson, Fabien Galtié, the coach of the XV of France, and Chef Julien Dubroc. A cornerstone of the concept, Julien Dubroc graduated from the Ecole Hôtelière de Saint-Chely-d'Apcher. He spent the last decade working at Chez Paul Bocuse and came on board to delight the taste buds "at the piano" with his special culinary music theory showcasing the best local products that the region has to offer.
