When traveling along the Canal du Midi, it is an absolute must to make a stop in Somail. Once an important port, and the nighttime break for those coming from Sète or Toulouse on the Post Barge, this village is the heart of the Minervois Countryside. Proud of its history, the tiny village has conserved its inn that is now a guest house and an old “glacière” where perishable goods were kept cold during the warm summer months.
