In use since the beginning of the 16th century, the thermal waters of Balaruc-les-Bains are some of the hottest and most mineral charged in the Languedoc region. This thermal station is a synonym to wellbeing. It houses the Mediterranean’s number one spa, O’balia, on the banks of the lagoon. From the port to the center of the city, invites you to relax in its parks and gardens like the Alley Brassens-Spinosi. Surrounded by fantastic views this Park allows you to go around the balarucoise peninsula. In the city, visit the 1855 church Notre-Dame de l’Assomption and see all of its treasures. Go walk around the Roman Chapel as well, called Notre-Dame des Eaux that dates back to the 11th and 12th century, and be sure not to skip the Gallo-Roman 2nd and 3rd century ruins. Finally, go up onto the Puech d’Ay hill to admire the Jardin Antique Méditerranée, the garden has been consecrated to Mediterranean plants for ages.
