Intersecting backstreets, numerous listed buildings such as the Tour de l’Horloge or the Fontaine Pagode…and also restaurants, enticing ice cream parlours or the weekly night time market – everything is in place to remind you that you are on holiday and to invite you to just go with the flow.
Anduze is above all the capital of the renowned Anduze Vase. It is still made today, using 400 year old local savoir-faire and exported around the world.
The Route du Vase d’Anduze highlights the passionate work of eight makers, guarantors of the local traditional skill. By visiting several makers one can see the subtle creative differences which mark the diversity in the Anduze Vase, but always in keeping with the tradition which dates from the 17th century. Some potteries open up their workshops and even reveal certain making secrets.
Add to this the option of visiting the largest bambouseraie in Europe or taking a ride on the famous Cevennes steam train and you will quickly understand that Anduze is an absolute must for any visit to the Cevennes!
